Here, we are going to take a look at all the ways that you can obtain eggs. This will cover permanent eggs, as well as any eggs that rotate out of the game. It's important to note that most eggs require you to spend in-game bucks, but you can also purchase this with Robux.
What Is A Starter Egg?
The first egg that you obtain will be called the Starter Egg. This little egg cannot be traded with other players, and can only hatch either a cat or dog. This is meant to serve as your first pet prior to obtaining new eggs.
The Starter Egg also serves as a way to become familiar with egg hatching in Adopt Me!, as you will need to feed and take care of the egg before it can hatch. There is no way to avoid getting this egg, as it happens right at the start of the game.
Permanent Nursery Eggs
Within the Nursery, you can find three permanent eggs if you head to the left from the entrance. These eggs are always for sale and can be found below.

As you can see, eggs can be quite expensive, especially if you have your heart set on the Royal Egg. Thankfully, there are a few great ways to make money, including taking care of your pet's needs and getting a job.
These eggs are tradable with other players. Although these eggs are always in the game and people can buy them whenever they have enough money, trading can come in handy if you want to buy a friend an egg.
Gumball Machine Eggs
Between the Pet Egg and Cracked Egg stands, you can find the Gumball Machine. This is an egg-buying location with a rotating stock. At the time of publication, the current egg is the Desert Egg, but this changes over time. For example, the previous egg was the Urban Egg, available from August 2023 to January 2024.
The percentages of these eggs vary, so be sure to check out the content percentage sign next to the machine. Every egg will cost you $750, which has remained constant since the first egg.
These eggs are tradable and tend to become more valuable once the egg in the Gumball Machine has been rotated out.
VIP Room Eggs
Within the VIP Room, you can also buy the Retired Egg for $600. Unfortunately, this isn't accessible to everyone; you will first need to buy the VIP Gamepass, which costs 750 Robux. If you do have access to this room, you can walk in and purchase the egg.
The Retired Egg holds all the pets that were in the Royal Egg prior to July 2022. During this time, the Royal Egg was refreshed with pets. If you've been playing since then and miss an old pet, consider buying the VIP Gamepass and buying a Retired Egg!
Other Ways To Obtain Eggs
There are other ways to obtain eggs, with many being tied to specific events or constraints. For example, the Golden Egg can only be obtained if you have 660 login stars. This is a Legendary egg that holds one of the three pets.

Other eggs are tied to in-game events, like the Fool Egg. This egg is shaped like a Christmas tree with a Jester hat and contains silly pets for April Fool's Day. The only way to obtain the egg was to spend $1,000 on it between April 1 and April 8, 2023.
It's important to note that some event-specific eggs are free. For example, in June 2022, you could obtain the Zodiac Minion Egg for free, which had a 100 percent chance to hatch a Zodiac Minion Chick.
When playing Adopt Me!, be sure to look at any event notifications that appear! You may be able to obtain a unique that will eventually go away.
